Hal Speed is an advocate for computer science education for all students in grades K–12 and believes these skills are necessary for socioeconomic mobility and the future prosperity of nations in the digital age. He is currently the Chief of Global Engagement for the Micro:bit Educational Foundation that provides educational learning tools for computational thinking, programming and making. He also is the founder of Computer Science for Texas (CS4TX), a coalition of business leaders, parents and educators dedicated to bring CS education to every student in Texas. Previously, Hal held strategy and marketing roles with technology startups and corporations such as Dell, AMD and Texas Instruments. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from Virginia Tech.
