Hands-On, Minds-On: Teaching Computing and 21st Century Skills through Engineering Design
Discover a program that empowers students to develop and apply computational thinking skills to solve "real world" problems in a project-based environment. Engineering Applications of Computer Science Principles is a year-long, design-based high school course that integrates computer science (CS) with engineering design. Developed by University of Texas Engineering and Computer Engineering faculty, experienced secondary teachers and curriculum developers, and engineers with decades of industry experience, this hands-on course engages students in authentic engineering and CS practices. Come learn how we scaffold student acquisition and application of CS principles across a series of engaging and socially relevant design challenges.
